Our client, a global leader in the research, design, integration, manufacture, certification, and lifetime service of flight control, hydraulic, fuel and inerting, fluid conveyance, thermal management, lubrication, and pneumatic systems and components for aerospace and other high-technology markets, is currently seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join their team in Fareham. This permanent role spans influential sectors including Maritime, Automotive, and Aerospace.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Documenting design activities and ensuring traceability of design to requirements, adhering to relevant project, company, or regulatory standards and processes.
  • Collaborating with systems, safety, software, and mechanical engineers to ensure hardware level requirements are met and to overcome design trade-offs or issues.
  • Contributing to system architectures development and considering alternative concepts and trade studies to determine preferred solutions.
  • Providing support to production during the introduction of new products and addressing component obsolescence issues.
  • Planning, generating, performing, and validating results of hardware verification plans and procedures.
  • Supporting hardware qualification activities.
  • Specifying, designing, commissioning, and verifying equipment test solutions to support hardware verification, qualification activities, and production.


Job Requirements:


Essential:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering or HND with significant relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing the full electronics lifecycle.
  • Proven experience of developing high integrity designs within a critical safety environment.
  • Ability to present complex engineering concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Willingness to engineer safety critical products in a regulated industry valuing engineering vigour.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers.


Desirable:

  • Ability to communicate well and work collaboratively with engineers across various disciplines.
  • Experience in documenting designs for formal qualification/certification.
  • Awareness of simple firmware to facilitate HW/firmware integration.
  • Some knowledge of lean design techniques.
