Job Summary:

To support and enhance the professional psychological and neuro-psychological care of residents’ within a Neuro Care setting. To provide a specialist clinical service to individuals with neurological conditions and their families, as well as senior support within the multidisciplinary team. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/team and within the overall framework of CFNC's policies and procedures. To demonstrate specialist psychological expertise in assessment and evidence based approaches. To have strong collaborative working skills, alongside a positive and flexible approach. To advise on complex clinical decision making. To use knowledge and experience to support with implementing ACP-UK plans; cognitive rehabilitation programmes and targeted psychological intervention.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality, safe and specialist psychology service.
  • To work autonomously developing pathways for psychology across the service, engaging with multidisciplinary teams within and across services.
  • To work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team (consisting of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, dieticians, nursing, care and neurorehabilitation consultants).
  • To provide psychological and neuropsychological assessment and therapy, offering advice and consultation on treatment plans.
  • To work autonomously within professional practice guidelines and the overall framework of Castel Froma’s policies and procedures.
  • To exercise full responsibility and autonomy for the treatment of individuals. To ensure appropriate assessment, formulation and interventions, accurate documentation and maintaining regular communication with others involved with care.
  • To manage demand for clinical service within Castel Froma Neuro Care, report on and make recommendations regarding service provision.
  • To provide supervision of junior staff inter and multidisciplinary as required.

  • To be committed to the role of a Practitioner Psychologist and be an active member of the Multi- disciplinary Team.
  • Hold a doctorate level qualification in clinical psychology, as accredited by the ACP-UK or counselling psychology or health psychology, as accredited by BPS
  • HCPC registration as Practitioner Psychologist
  • Full member of the ACP-UK division of clinical psychology, or BPS health or counselling psychology
  • Hold a clean driver’s license plus own a car.

Essential Candidate Criteria:

  • Doctorate in Psychology
  • HCPC Registered
  • Right to work in the UK
