Job Description

Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager to join our Warehouse Operations team on a interim basis at our Corby (Geddington Road) site. 

As Warehouse Shift Manager you will be responsible for managing staff and other resources in the safe and profitable delivery of the services required by the client.

Maintain statutory and company standards with regard to safety, welfare and security within all aspects of shift activity and deputise for the Operations Manager where necessary.

This is a Fixed Term Contract running until Jan 2025
Shift Pattern: Any 5 from 7 rotating 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm.
Salary: £33,790
Location: Corby

Job responsibilities of Warehouse Shift Manager include:

  • Understand the SLA aspects of the client contract and the commercial impact of their own decision making
  • Manage the standard shift inbound and outbound operational processes within the constraints of the required services, operational cost, accuracy and timelines
  • Maintain appropriate administration of processes for reporting and tracking key information
  • Within the scope of the shift activity, ensure that all processes, daily checks, defect reporting, training and operations are conducted in line with both company and legislative health and safety requirements
  • Adhere to relevant performance management processes in line with the company policies
  • Provide guidance, support, instruction and training for the development of skills, knowledge and awareness relative to operational requirements, health, safety and welfare of all staff within your areas of responsibility
  • Conduct investigative processes and where appropriate take relevant disciplinary action up to final written warning.
  • Provide improvement suggestions to operational deficiencies and the implementation of change
  • Carry out any other duties, which from time to time may be reasonably requested from the management team.
Qualifications

To apply for the role of Warehouse Shift Manager, you will possess the following skills, experiences and qualifications:

  • Experience of managing and developing a team
  • Knowledge of maintaining health & safety
  • Experience of managing performance, disciplinary and grievance procedures and absence
  • Customer focussed and commercial awareness of managing client SLA’s, measuring and monitoring performance using various IT systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • General warehouse management experience (minimum 1 year experience)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of mobilising change in people and processes
