Part-time Teaching Assistant

Milk Education are working with a primary school in Wigan (WN3) who are seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to work 1-2-1 with a child in Year 2 who has Autism and Complex Needs. This role is starting in Sept 2024 and will be a temporary, long-term role.

The School are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and accommodating toe the child’s learning needs for this part-time Teaching Assistant position. The hours of work are 12:00 Noon- 15:30pm, so 5 x pm only per week.

This part-time Teaching Assistant role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they doing is being done to a good standard. You will be responsible for getting resources ready for the day and ensure the child’s needs are being met. In this part-time Teaching Assistant role you will provide a patient and nurturing learning environment for the child.

Teaching Assistant- Role & Responsibilities:

* Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
* Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
* Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
* Deliver catch-up sessions

Teaching Assistant Level- Non-negotiables:

* Must have recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, within the past two years
* Must have a passion for education
* Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills
* Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
* Must be reliable and punctual
