Fabrication Supervisor

We are working with a Client who urgently require a Supervisor for their Fabrication department 10 miles outside of Norwich. 

Summary:

The role involves driving the business forward, making improvements and managing the use of machines/equipment/processes, ensuring our Client can support both the business and other 3rd party customer requirements, securing future growth and prosperity.

What you'll do:

    • Organise the week and day to day activities, to achieve the plan in the production area and ensure resources are available to achieve the MPS/production requirements
    • Maintain quality - ensuring process adherence.
    • Disposition of components & products - rework, returns & scrap.
    • Communicating effectively with the Team, such as briefing meetings, appraisals
    • Develop and support continuous improvement activities through team working, people and processes, measuring and reporting.
    • Ensure the safe standardisation of operations.
    • Ensure equipment used is done so in a safe manner, including PPE.
    • Assist in accident investigation, safety audits, risk assessments, job safety analysis etc.
    • Ensure environmental procedures are adhered to, including waste segregation, scrap, storage, and the disposal of chemicals.
    • Attendance management, through return to work interviews and informal/formal discussions.
    • Production team communication, team meetings.
    • Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, through regular training record reviews and appraisals.
    • Develop individual competence, to ensure maximum flexibility within the team.
    • Assist with the recruitment of the production team - selection/interviews/appointments.
    • Carry out the induction and training of new/ temporary and transferring employees.
    • Ensure all policies and procedures are upheld.
    • Manage, motivate, and organise the business's production, with the most efficient use of resources.
    • Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to, and product quality meets the customer demands.
    • Help achieve the Production, Performance Indicators and KPI's.

What you'll bring:

  • Good understanding of the English language & able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate.
  • Numerate, with the ability to read and understand written instructions/documentation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Honest, trustworthy, flexible, proactive, enthusiastic, and able to communicate effectively.
  • Basic employment law and HSE law knowledge
