My client designs, develop and manufactures environmental sensors for application in sectors including defence, maritime and marine technology.  They are currently seeking a QHSE Manager to join them in Hampshire, leading, developing and maintaining the QHSE processes across the company.

QHSE Manager

The QHSE Manager role will include (but is not limited to):
 
  • Effective management and administration of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensuring compliance with new legislation and changes to existing legislation.
  • Ensuring compliance of contractors with Quality and H&S requirements.
  • Conducting internal audits and undertake site and project QHSE inspections
  • Championing QHSE best practice throughout the business and promoting QHSE awareness.
  • Analysing complaints and non-conformances from internal and external audits.
  • Evaluating suppliers and sub-contractors in accordance with QHSE Management System requirements.
  • Monitoring health and safety risks and hazards and advising employees on how to minimise risks and hazards in the workplace.
  • Creating and reviewing Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments.
  • Ensuring legal compliance with all health and safety legislation.
  • Conducting safety inspections in the workplace.
  • Creating and managing health and safety monitoring systems and policies.
  • Assessing and implementing other standards as appropriate e.g. ISO 13485, 14001, 45001.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level (2.1 or above) in a relevant subject and will have previous experience in a similar QHSE Manager role, with a track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of business operations and financial principles.

You will need to hold relevant QHSE certifications, such as NEBOSH, COSHH, NGC, GC3, IOSH, First Aid at Work, Fire Warden, ESD, ISO9001 QMS Internal auditing etc.

You will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
