Connect Appointments are seeking a Landfill Site Plant Operative to join our client's team within the landfill site in Skelmersdale, West Lancashire.
The role will require you to work in a small team of Maintenance Technicians, but sometimes independently when trained.
What's on offer:
- £12.00 per hour
- Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm
Working as a Landfill Site Plant Operative, your duties will include but not limited to:
- Support the landfill site team ensuring the safe & effective operation of the company's waste management facility
- Operating yellow plant vehicles, moving and safely disposing of hazardous waste
- Directing vehicles to tipping location, controlling and organising daily tipping operation
- Basic machine maintenance, e.g. greasing, track digging, fluid levels, ensuring cab tidy and clean
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have the following skills, traits and experience
- Full Clean Driving Licence preferable
- 360 excavator and bulldozer licence is desirable
- Experience in waste industry/operations an advantage
- Yellow plant licence and experience is desirable
- Enjoys outside work
- Adaptable and good practically with good common sense is an advantage
- Keen and ambitious to lean
- Reasonably fit due to works involves a lot of walking and labouring type works on site
