We are currently recruiting for a dedicated special needs school serving pupils aged 9-19 with learning difficulties and associated social and communication needs. Their mission is to provide a supportive and stimulating environment where every student can achieve their full potential. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Science Teacher to join the team and inspire the students through innovative and accessible science education.



Job Description:

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated science lessons tailored to the unique needs of our students. You will work closely with other teachers, support staff, and specialists to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver science curriculum tailored to students with learning difficulties and social communication needs.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to ensure all students can access the curriculum.
  • Create and adapt lesson plans to meet individual education plans (IEPs) and learning goals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching methods as needed.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals to support student learning and well-being.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and science teaching.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with learning difficulties and social communication needs.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
