IntaPeople are proud to be representing a prestigious firm based in Barbican district of London. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a highly experienced Information Governance Officer who has a proven track record of delivering and embedding data governance throughout organisations.

Reporting to the Information Security Manager, you will sit within the Security & Privacy team to lead internal processes and practices within your remit. You will identify risks and future issues within the firm's data capture through physical and electronic data to mitigate regulatory compliance.

What we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience working in a similar role, having prior exposure to data governance best practices, including regulatory requirements.
  • Understands, and is able to explain, how data governance needs to evolve to enable the safe adoption of emerging technologies such as Generative AI.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at a senior level, able to persuade stakeholders of the need for good data governance and what is required to embed it successfully.
  • Strong written communication skills, able to present information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and competing priorities, with a high degree of initiative and autonomy.
  • Experience working within ‘big four’ consultancies or Law/Legal firms would be highly advantageous

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Define and implement a risk-based and proportionate to-be data governance framework, firmwide.
  • Drive related changes in operational culture and ways of working.
  • Propose and agree measures for monitoring the effectiveness of data governance within the firm, leveraging relevant technologies to report on progress, risks and issues to senior leadership.
  • Establish and lead cross-functional working groups to identify and resolve data governance issues.
  • Help stakeholders understand and realise the benefits of governing and managing data effectively, e.g. by delivering training and workshops to promote data governance awareness across the firm.
  • Define the target operating model for data governance within the firm, e.g. roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop, socialise, implement and embed new data governance policies and procedures.
  • Improve compliance with applicable legislation and regulations (both national and international).
