Supply Heroes are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced KS2 intervention teacher for a thriving and exciting Primary School in Longbridge, Birmingham. The school have strong commitment to providing all pupils with the best possible education and are extremely supportive where everybody feels valued. The role starts September 2024 and will be full-time, 5 days a week until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing targeted support to pupils who are struggling in specific areas of the curriculum. You will work closely with class teachers and other members of the school team to develop and deliver effective interventions. You will also be doing catch-up with the pupils as well as some whole class teaching where required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group interventions to pupils who are struggling in specific areas of the curriculum in Years 5 & 6
  • Develop and deliver targeted interventions that are tailored to the individual needs of pupils
  • Work closely with class teachers and other members of the school team to monitor pupil progress
  • Contribute to the school's wider improvement plans

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified teacher with experience of working in a primary school
  • Experience of providing intervention support to pupils who are struggling
  • An understanding of the curriculum across Upper Key Stage 2
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
