Our client, is a small but very busy Freight Forwarder based in Hounslow. They are looking to recruit an experienced Operator covering predominately Air Freight Imports and Exports. 

General Operational Duties

• Maintain the day to day allocated freight workload
• Prepare, handle, and process all relevant documentation
• Track & trace cargo, update company online web facilities
• Liaise with carriers, partner agents & other parties to ensure information is up to date & correct. 
• Arrange collections, deliveries with hauliers, agents & other parties
• Produce accurate and timely client billing
• Assist road freight and other modes as required 
• Complete Customs Entry using current software in operation
• Responsible for Customer service for selected Customers to include all means of correspondence, problem resolution and visits as and when required
• Update agents/customers regarding shipment status
• Resolve customer claims and delivery shortages
• Quote existing customers and agents on sea and air consignments as required
• Collaborate with Sales department as required
• Give close attention & support to new customers
• Collate sales information on prospective customers to be passed onto Sales department
• Help develop good relations with overseas partner agents
• Ensure accounts queries are processed within required times

Requirements

• 5 years + previous experience within the Shipping / Freight industry 
• Air Freight Import / Export Operational experience 
• Experience within road and sea is an advantage but not essential 
• Excellent customer service and attention to detail skills.
