Working Hours: 38 hours per week 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 to 12:50 Friday

Offering an extensive range of self-regulating & constant power output heating cables, products are used extensively in the Oil/Gas & Petrochemical industries both onshore & offshore. Products & systems are also provided for use in many other industries such as: Power Generation (conventional & nuclear); Water & Waste Treatment; Food Processing; Chemical & Pharmaceutical, as well as many other industries. HTL recently completed the world’s first subsea, electrically heat traced, reeled pipe-in-pipe system in partnership with Technip UK for TOTAL E&P”.

Main Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for a certification officer to support the evaluation, testing and certification of products to achieve and maintain certifications including ATEX/IECEx and ISO 9001 certifications.  To update and maintain management systems and documentation supporting the Certification Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prioritising and Delegating work for the Assistant Certification Officer
  • Running new product certification projects and updating existing product certification
  • Update and maintain trade agent agreements and certifications
  • Attend and participate in Quality and Certification meeting with customers and Notified Bodies
  • Overseeing the internal audits, ensuring these take place in a timely manner, logging progress and reporting
  • Obtaining and collating information necessary to create product technical files
  • Organising and performing internal ATEX vertical audits and ISO 9001 audits
  • Training additional ATEX vertical product auditors
  • Create, maintain and issue cable print specifications to production
  • Work with the Certification Manager with the ongoing upgrading and implementation of  management systems e.g.ISO.
  • Create and update certification department systems
  • Ensure new certificates, associated drawings and test reports are issued and filed accordingly
  • Maintenance of approvals, certificates, drawings and standards registers.  Both electronically and hard copy of all international standards applicable to the industry
  • Assessing products designed to international standards
  • Preparation of technical reports/files and certificates
  • Proactively identify issues and address in a timely manner
  • Updating the list of approved products for reference by the wider company
  • Filing of Certificates of Conformity/Certificates of Analysis from suppliers
  • Dealing with customer queries
  • Progressing samples, drawings, datasheets, print specifications and product instructions. Liaising with all relevant teams in the business
  • Creating an audit plan internal ISO and vertical product ATEX audits
  • Keep finance department informed with certification costs and timelines
  • Request purchase orders to cover certification costs
  • Ensure new certificates are filed accordingly and advise relevant individuals/teams of the changes
  • Liaising with Marketing update website information with new certificates, removing old certificates
  • Modify drawings using AutoCAD

What will you bring to the role?

Essential:

- Demonstrable experience/understanding of ATEX/IECEx standards/certification

- Engineering qualification (HNC and above) or equivalent.

- Experience working in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment

- Project management skills

- Understanding of product standards/approvals process

- Experience/understanding of Quality Management – including ISO 9001, 14001 etc.

- Willingness to conduct audits outside the UK

- Excellent attention to detail

- Great communication skills

- Strong organisational and time management skills

Desirable:

- Experience of CAD packages

- ISO  9001 and EN (phone number removed)
