New Age Recruiters Limited are currently recruiting for a Registered Manager to work within a Children Care Home located in Multiple sites across Birmingham and Rugeley. We want to recruit someone with experience of managing within a Residential setting, either as a registered manager, service manager or procurement / contracts who is looking for growth with our company.

Essential skill

Level 5 Diploma in leadership and management (essential)

Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.

Driving license and Car

The ideal candidate for this role will have relevant experience of managing a supported living services from a compliance and operational standpoint, as well as working with commissioners and managing tenders and frameworks. (essential)

Essential Experience

A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting within the last 5 years.

A minimum of 1 years’ experience of supervising and managing professional staff.

Level 3 in Residential children and young people workforce (or equivalent)

Must meet the requirements for their own personal registration with Ofsted.

A proven track record in successfully managing supported living services

Willingness and comfortable to travel to various locations as requested

Candidates must have the full right to work in the UK ans sponsorship is not available

Responsibilities

Always ensure that the ethos of the Statement of Purpose is applied

Fulfil the role of the Registered Manager as defined within the Care Standards Act.

Ensure the home environment is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the children or young people being looked after and is compliant with the Children’s Homes

Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards for Children’s Homes.
Work in partnership with individuals to create bespoke support packages.

Ensure the home is run in line with statutory and The Client’s policies and procedures.

Ensure that children facing crisis and stresses are offered appropriate additional support, and to ensure that staff are supported in dealing with the most complex cases.

Experience of identifying sources of referrals requiring Domiciliary services.

Business development in developing new areas where the company can expand into.

Taking overall responsibility for the quality care provided. Audit and check care plans, personnel files, medication, and person-centered systems.

To be involved in the selection, recruitment, and retention of staff as necessary.

Ensure adherence to company policy in relation to probationary periods.
 

Ensure all staff appraisals are carried out during September – October annually.
 

Attend to issues of staff motivation and morale, be involved in supporting, coaching and mentoring staff.
 

Ensure children and young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive.

Provide leadership to the team and act as a positive role model to Support Workers and Team Leaders.

Encourage the involvement of people being supported in the development of and day-to-day operation of the service.

Monitor ongoing expenditure and report any discrepancies.

Ensure that budgets are managed effectively, and the use of finances is properly monitored.

Ensure that the environment is managed in line with all Health and Safety requirements and that this is reflected in monitoring, reporting, and recording functions.

Use community resources where appropriate.

Create rotas which fit best with the children and young people’s needs and which allow proper handovers between shifts.

Oversee and monitor the home’s recording system.

Report to a line manager or other appropriate person, in the event of awareness of poor practice.

Participate in the on-call system.

Undertake any other managerial duties as may be necessary.
 

Probationary Period. All positions are subject to an initial probationary period of six

months. Successful completion of the probationary period is subject to continuous,

satisfactory performance and attendance at any training required.

Annual Leave. Entitlement for permanent staff is 25 days per year, plus Bank and Public Holidays.

Hours of Work. Your hours of work are those required to carry out your duties to the

satisfaction of the Company, and as necessitated by the needs of the business, plus

on-call duties.

Pension Scheme. The Client provides membership of the Workplace Pension Scheme.
