Job description

New Age Recruiters Limited are currently recruiting for a Deputy Manager to work within a Children Care Home located in Multiple sites across Birmingham and Rugeley. We want to recruit someone with experience of managing within a Residential setting, either as a Deputy manager, service manager or procurement / contracts who is looking for growth with our company.

Essential skill

Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.

Level 5 Diploma in leadership and management within 3 years starting the job

Driving license and Car

The ideal candidate for this role will have relevant experience of managing a supported living services from a compliance and operational standpoint, as well as working with commissioners and managing tenders and frameworks. (essential)

Essential Experience

A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting within the last 5 years.

A minimum of 6 months’ experience of supervising and managing professional staff.

A Deputy Manager must be able to prioritize their workload and assist the Registered Manager in prioritizing the workload of their team, maintaining, and monitoring accurate records.A proven track record in successfully managing supported living services

Willingness and comfortable to travel to various locations as requested

Candidates must have the full right to work in the UK ans sponsorship is not available

Responsibilities

Always ensure that the ethos of the Statement of Purpose is applied

Fulfil the role of the Registered Manager as defined within the Care Standards Act.

Assist the Registered Manager to ensure the home environment is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the children and young people being looked after and is compliant with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards for Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards for Children’s Homes.

Work collaboratively and co-operate willingly to ensure optimum delivery of day-to-day care.Work in partnership with individuals to create bespoke support packages.

Be aware of children’s rights and work in an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive manner.

Ensure children and young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive.

Experience of identifying sources of referrals requiring Domiciliary services.

Business development in developing new areas where the company can expand into.

Taking overall responsibility for the quality care provided. Audit and check care plans, personnel files, medication, and person-centered systems.

Ensure adequate resources are at the home such as petty cash, stationary, educational materials.

Ensure adherence to company policy in relation to probationary periods.

Attend to issues of staff motivation and morale, be involved in supporting, coaching and mentoring staff.

Ensure children and young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive.

Maintain the home in a clean and orderly condition.

Encourage the involvement of people being supported in the development of and day-to-day operation of the service.

Maintain staff routines in relation to all aspects of childcare.

Support the home’s effective use of the home’s recording system.

Be a positive role model for the children and young people and colleagues and encourage both to develop meaningful relationships and attachments.

Receive training appropriate to the role and maintain an up to date training profile

Work flexibly to meet changing needs of the business including providing cover as and when required.

Probationary Period. All positions are subject to an initial probationary period of six

months. Successful completion of the probationary period is subject to continuous,

satisfactory performance and attendance at any training required.

Annual Leave. Entitlement for permanent staff is 20 days per year, plus Bank and Public

Holidays.

Hours of Work. Your hours of work are those required to carry out your duties to the

satisfaction of the Company, and as necessitated by the needs of the business. This

will include a rota pattern that includes weekends, evenings, sleep ins and bank holiday

workings. Your rota will include attendance at team meetings, supervision, and

training. Your rota is subject to change at short notice.

Pension Scheme. The Client provides membership of the Workplace Pension Scheme.
