On behalf of our client, we are hiring a Senior In-House Lawyer.

This role is a predominantly or exclusively non-contentious role which will include reviewing, negotiating and drafting a wide range of contracts. You will also be expected to work with external solicitors. You may on occasion be required to support other team members on contentious matters., but experience of contentious work is not necessary for this role.

The role sits within an established legal team of three lawyers (including general counsel) which serves the UK division of the company.

The Role

• Reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients, sub-contractors, consultants and others
• Drafting and maintaining precedent forms of contracts and agreements for use in the business
• Dealing with commercial agreements
• Providing legal support to our project and delivery teams including drafting correspondence and advising on claims issues
• Assisting with training and know how within the business
• Working with external solicitors
• On occasion, supporting for contentious matters, including adjudications.

Candidates must have significant experience (predominantly non-contentious ) gained within an in house or private practice of the above (some in house experience in the sector is preferred but not essential) and be familiar with industry standard forms such as JCT and NEC.

The position is predominantly based in our UK head office in Watford, but we offer a flexible working environment where hybrid working has been embedded. For a full time role there would be an option to work from home up to two days a week. Whilst this is a full-time role we will consider someone who wants to work part time or on flexible hours.
