SRG are delighted to be working with an exciting contract testing and analysis company based in the North of Scotland who are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their rapidly expanding and exciting business.

The role

As the business development (BD) manager you will work closely with your BD colleagues to grow existing client opportunities, and expand the business into new clients. This role has no internal competition and the whole team is pulling in the same direction. In the role you will consult with a variety of clients across the UK and Europe to identify their requirements within natural products analysis. This includes high value plants such as cannabis being used for medicinal purposes as well as lipid analysis. You will work alongside a team of analytical chemists to design an offering that is best suited to your clients and ensure customer satisfaction throughout.

The right person

  • Prior experience in a technical sales role
  • Degree level (or higher) education in a scientific discipline (Chemistry/forensics is preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience working in new and emerging markets is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both within scientific conversations, and financial
  • Able to travel both internationally (2 or 3 times per year) and across the UK (2 or 3 times per quarter)
