Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join an award-winning business in the lake district. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our site by handling repair, maintenance, installation, and fault diagnosis tasks.
Day to Day of the role:
- Act as the site's competent person for all aspects of Electrical Maintenance engineering, adhering to statutory legislation and regulations.
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and improvements on plant, machinery, and controls, using planning and computer maintenance management systems.
- Coordinate with Site Shift Electricians and the Engineering Manager on ongoing tasks.
- Prioritise tasks in collaboration with production Team Leaders during simultaneous breakdowns.
- Respond promptly to requests from production, non-production, and engineering teams.
- Manage administration and data, including Electrical logs, Engineering Work Requests, and Permits to Work Certificates.
- Maintain records for Planned Maintenance, Safety Clearance Certificates, and Plant Handover documents.
- Update hardware drawings and electrical software drawings, and manage PLC equipment.
- Monitor and report on stores shortages and stock levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Recognised qualification in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years industrial experience.
- Proficient in fault finding and diagnostics of electrical equipment.
- Skilled in implementing modifications to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Experience in commissioning and testing new installations.
- Ability to interpret electrical engineering diagrams.
- Willingness to participate in an 8-week shift pattern, covering out-of-hours and holiday periods.
- Training in PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Scada systems) is beneficial.
- Experience with electrical drive and control systems is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to self-learning and development.
