About the school:

The provision caters for young people who are not currently in mainstream school for a variety of reasons, primarily as a result of permanent exclusion. The cohort of pupils are across Key stage 2 & 4 with EHCP's and require specialist teaching due to their SEMH needs. The curriculum has a mix of academic qualifications alongside life skills including communication, team work and independent learning.

Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Head:

- Supporting the Executive Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher
- Communicating the School's vision and supporting strategic leadership
- Daily management of the School in line policies for achieving main objectives
- Managing the team upholding a culture of staff professionalism
- Upholding educational standards to enable preparation for the students to move onto their next phase of education and life
- Encourage high standards of behaviour from students adhering to School policies and rules and routines that are understood by staff and students and clearly demonstrated by all staff

Key Responsibilities for the Pastoral Lead:
- Establish and implement systems for student wellbeing across the School
- Communicate with students allowing them to have a voice to ensure they feel content and safe
- Plan and deliver training to the wider School team
- Monitor student attendance and prepare improvement strategies to raise attendance
- Analyse date for the School in regards to attendance, behaviour, exclusions and wellbeing of students
- Involvement of looking issues concerning child protection and safeguarding
- Develop a high-quality pastoral programme of PSHE alongside the SENDCO

Requirements for the role:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Line management experience
- Leadership and management experience in a Secondary School
- Experience working in a role attending to behaviour and attendance
- Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead
