Supply Star Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a School in Stratford-Upon-Avon who require a School Nurse to join their school from September.

You will initially be required to work through Supply Star Recruitment on a probationary period, however on successful completion of this period you will be offered a permanent contract.

The school specifically support learners aged between 3 – 19 all with a statement of special needs. They support children and young people with Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs and Autism.

The school is inclusive with a team of staff who have the specialist knowledge and skills to meet the needs of the students. The school is classed as a 'broad-spectrum generic' SEN school and includes students who have a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities: however all students must have a learning difficulty as their main barrier to learning. 

To be considered for this role you must:

• Be a registered Paediatric Nurse, ideally with school based experience, however this is not essential
• Have experience with individuals with additional needs
• Have the bility to provide a high standard of care to students who require it
• Carry out some clinical procedures as set out in the Care Plan
• Assist the school in the organisation and running of medical sessions
• Encourage students to achieve independence and promote self care
• Undertake aspects of nursing care (e.g. personal care, enteral feeding support, basic wound care)
• Liaise with necessary outside agencies to ensure the safety of all pupils
• Ensure accurate documentation of care as directed by qualified staff within the nursing care plan

You must have a clear DBS certificate to be considered for this role. If you do not have one Supply Star Recruitment can support you in obtaining one at a cost of £50.
