Our client, a leading company in the marine industry, is currently seeking a Senior Naval Architect to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Naval Architect, you will play a key role in the design and development of cutting-edge submarines for the Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy. This is a permanent position offering excellent opportunities for professional growth and development.



What you'll be doing:

  • Designing the SSN AUKUS, the world's most advanced submarine
  • Utilizing your expertise in hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, seamanship, and outfit to support major shipbuilding programs in the UK
  • Assisting with sea trials, inclining experiments, and commissioning activities for multiple submarine classes
  • Engaging in research and development initiatives to enhance capabilities


Your skills and experiences:



Essential:

  • Qualified naval architect with a degree in Ship Science, Marine Technology, or a related field
  • Experience working in engineering or postgraduate study


Desirable:

  • Experience in stability or maneuvering assessments, design, or build support
  • Strong technical report writing and presentation skills

As a Senior Naval Architect, you'll be part of one of the largest and fastest-growing Naval Architecture Departments in the UK. You'll contribute to the delivery of cutting-edge submarines to the Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy, working on complex ship design and build programs. The department consists of teams specializing in weights engineering, stability and hydrostatics, infrastructure support, seamanship and outfit, manoeuvring and control, fluid dynamics, and design and development.
