I am working with a progressive social housing company in the Liverpool area who due to growth are looking to recruit a Fire Risk Assessment Validator on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role and candidates can be based across the North of England for this role.

As a FRA Validator, you will implement robust quality control and validation for the fire risk assessment department, ensuring all assessments are of the highest standard and comply with the Fire Safety Order. You will oversee assessments for low to medium risk buildings and validate those outsourced for high-risk buildings, ensuring confidence in service quality.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in fire risk assessments and validation, particularly within residential and care settings. If you have a thorough understanding of fire safety regulations, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, this role will suit you well.

Key Responsibilities

- Validate documented fire risk assessments, ensuring compliance and quality.

- Conduct site visits and physical inspections, including accessing loft spaces.

- Implement and review fire risk assessment validation procedures.

- Provide feedback and agree on necessary changes with assessors.

- Maintain records of the validation process and manage external audits.

We are looking for someone with (to be taken from essential criteria)

  • Demonstrate meet the nationally recognized Competency Criteria for Fire Risk Assessors from the Fire Sector Federation or similar and meet the requirements of a FRA validator
  • Extensive experience of undertaking fire risk assessments, with experience in residential fire risk assessments and experience validating FRAs.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of quality assessment frameworks and techniques.
  • Experience of Working as a fire risk assessment for residential housing and care and support schemes and evidence of applying PAS 79.
  • Ability to carry out site visits and physical inspections of work, including accessing loft spaces by means of ladders
  • Maintain a record of validation process for each FRA report.
  • Implement a procedure to retain all evidence gathered during the FRA ensuring it is maintained in a secure and accessible condition for all risk assessors.
  • Produce reports for statutory internal and national standards compliance and performance reports for the management team.
  • Support independent professional body reviews and 3rd party accreditation for organisation and individuals i.e BAFESP205.

Experience Required

  • Meet the nationally recognised competency criteria for FRA from the fire sector federation or similar meet the requirements of a FRA validator.
  • Extensive experience undertaking FRA ideally within a social housing environment and experience validating FRA’s.
  • Experience of working as a FRA within a residential housing and care support schemes and evidence of applying PAS79.
  • Ability to carry out site visits and physical inspections of works.
  • Relevant qualifications to the role.
