Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and diligent General Warehouse Operative to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of a wide range of goods in our warehouse. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work effectively within a team, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and unload deliveries of goods.
• Check for damaged or missing items and report discrepancies.
• Accurately record received goods into the warehouse management system.
• Ensure goods are stored safely and in designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch.
• Perform regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided if necessary).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines regarding health and safety, and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Assist with other warehouse tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a warehouse operative or similar role is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of warehouse procedures and best practices.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification is an asset.
