Role: Head of Care
Location: Wandsworth
Salary Bands: Residential Officer Grade D spine 23 to Grade E spine 33
Working Hours: Term time only (39 weeks), 40 hours per week with flexibility for daytime, evening, and required sleep-in duties.

Required Experience:
* NVQ in Child/Social Care
* BSL Level 1
* GCSE pass at or above Grade C in English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent)
* Experience of working in a residential setting with a strong background in Social Care

* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Commitment to promoting the welfare and development of children and young people

The Role:
* Develop and refine systems to monitor care quality, ensuring alignment with National Minimum Standards and consistent evaluation.
* Work closely with the Headteacher and Governing Body to implement Ofsted recommendations and ensure compliance, driving continuous improvement.
* Lead and maintain high care standards, promote positive behaviour, emotional literacy, life skills, and educational attainment.
* Create a welcoming home-like environment, ensuring optimal peer dynamics and appropriate staffing.
* Curate diverse activities, solicit input from residents and parents, and address feedback and complaints promptly.
* Provide leadership, supervise staff, manage performance, and participate in recruitment and HR processes.
* Generate reports, develop Residential Development Plans aligned with strategic objectives, and ensure prudent budget management.
* Foster relationships with local authorities, community stakeholders, parents, and professionals, promoting integration and school visibility.
* Lead on child protection and LAC matters, ensure adherence to safeguarding principles and statutory requirements, and communicate concerns to the DSL.
