Our client is a leading independent scientific group, providing laboratory analysis to the agriculture, food, and environmental sectors. We are excited to announce that due to significant business growth we are supporting the company by recruiting a talented, career-minded individual who is interested in developing a long-term career path. The successful candidate will play a key part in the Finance Team and also support the broader business where required, therefore, playing a key part in ensuring the site operates and delivers its goals effectively.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to flourish in a fast-paced environment, someone with strong administration experience in a finance team, and a willingness to work in a team-based customer service focussed company.

The role:

  • Processing a high-volume supplier invoices of varying values accurately and efficiently
  • Bank and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Assist with month end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliation
  • Reconcile supplier statement to ensure all invoices are accounted for.
  • Prepare and Process weekly payment runs in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate notes on the status of accounts and up to date contact details
  • Supplier query handling
  • Set up new supplier’s account
  • Ad hoc support to the transactional manager on new project

The person:

  • Confident when work remotely with the ability to travel across the UK monthly
  • Previous demonstrable experience within an accounts payable role
  • Experienced with the use of ERP systems, Xero or Dynamics 365 would be advantageous
  • Relevant accounting qualification/ AAT qualified would be desirable, but not essential
  • Ability to work at pace and collaborate with colleagues across the broader finance team
  • Excellent customer service skills, building rapport with external and internal stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills
  • A natural team player who is able to prioritise multiple tasks
  • IT literate, and familiar with at least one Finance system
