Trainee Quantity Surveyor

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a long-established civils engineering contractor.

Office based but visiting site as and when required, you will join a commercial team and assist with all commercial functions of quantity surveying.

Projects are varied and can be summarised as minor civils project, working for local councils, civil engineers, contractors etc. You be exposed to pricing / tender enquiries, sub-contractor procurement, valuations, site measurements, invoicing through to the final account process. With a structured training programme, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to embark on a commercial career within Cornwall.

What you will need:

• A desire and enthusiasm to learn
• Basic site / commercial experience will be advantageous
• Good IT skills is a must, Excel is essential
• Ideally educated to BTEC level in a construction related subject, but not essential there is the opportunity to become suitability qualified with ongoing training and support
• You will need a full driving license as the head office is based in Helston and there will be regular travel to site across Cornwall.
