Contract Scotland has an immediate opportunity for a Community Liaison Officer to join our client who is a leader in their field and currently manages some of Scotland's largest civil engineering projects.

This is a full-time, permanent job, which offers a competitive salary and the chance to develop a career with an established successful business.

You will be required to work in East Lothian (Musselburgh), with travel in mostly the East of Scotland, and Hawick for Ad-hoc meetings. 

This is a busy role where your duties will include:

  • Ensuring there is effective communication between the Project Team and Key Stakeholders
  • Dealing with issues and concerns from Key Stakeholders and the wider community and managing them through the cycle to ensure they are satisfactorily closed and all parties are happy with the outcome
  • Working closely with Key Partners and delivering on agreed objectives 
  • Communicating with community groups and  keeping them informed of the progression of the project
  • Working with local groups to provide a successful community benefits provision to the area
  • Engaging with local schools
  • Producing and carrying out presentations to a wide range of local groups and businesses 

Previous experience in a community liaison position would be ideal however, it is not essential. You must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to deliver information to groups of people confidently and concisely.
