Overview:

This Higher Education Institution are looking for an Oracle Developer to join the Information Technology Services team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Oracle-based applications that support the institution's administrative and academic operations. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement Oracle database applications to support institutional needs, including student information systems, finance systems, and human resources systems.
  • Perform database administration tasks such as backup, recovery, performance tuning, and monitoring to ensure optimal database performance and availability.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure accurate and efficient data integration between Oracle databases and other institutional systems.
  • Collaborate with end-users and stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse system needs, and design solutions that enhance operational efficiency and data integrity.
  • Create and maintain custom reports and dashboards using Oracle reporting tools to support decision-making processes across the institution.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, code, and configurations to ensure knowledge transfer and system maintainability.

Experience:

  • Proven experience with Oracle Database, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, and Oracle Reports.
  • Experience with Oracle APEX and Oracle E-Business Suite is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
  • Knowledge of database design, data modelling, and normalisation.
  • Experience with ETL processes and tools (e.g., Oracle Data Integrator).
