Machine Operator

£12.50ph+ DOE

Due to continued growth and success, my client is on the lookout for a machine operator to join their team.  They’re one of the market leaders within sustainable packaging and have multiple sites in the UK.

If you have experience operating machines from any other industry, such as food production, beverage, pharmaceutical, plastic etc, I’d love to hear from you!

You will work on the afternoon shift (Mon-Fri 3:30 – 12:30) and some flexibility is required as overtime is often available. 

The Role

• Operate and maintain machinery
• Confirm job details before feeding the press
• Work enthusiastically to achieve production targets
• Inspect pallets after cutting and complete daily quality checklists
• Perform make-ready and preventive maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate daily records of time, materials usage and production information
• Assist with hand packing duties as needed
• Adhere to all company safety protocols, hygiene procedures and allergy management
• Report any potentially unsafe conditions issues to a supervisor
• Communicate any quality concerns or customer complaints

The Person

• A successful proven record and experience of operating machinery in a production/manufacturing background
• Experience operating Die Cutting Machinery (Bobst, Asahi etc) is desirable
• Experience with hand jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts (desirable)
• Excellent attention to detail and quality
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills
• A willingness to learn and adapt
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks

Salary

The starting salary for this role is £12.50ph / £26,000pa and is dependant on experience.
