· 4 and half day Working week.

· 36.75-hour week (Mon-Thurs - 08:00am-16:30pm Fri 0800am-12:45pm).

Job Overview:

Froude Limited, a manufacturer of highly engineered engine testing products, is seeking a creative Electrical Engineer to work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. The goal is to design and engineer dynamometer and related system electrical/electronic components of innovation and excellence.

We design, develop and manufacture engine dynamometer products and systems. Our customers include Ford, GM, Rolls Royce, Volkswagen, Siemens, GE, Pratt & Whitney and a variety of other major international companies. Froude is headquartered in Novi, Michigan USA and we have a manufacturing center in Worcester, United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full-lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)
  • Design and provide electrical drawings for systems and components that meet needs and requirements
  • Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for manufacturing, building, assembling, and installing components.
  • Supports the Production and Commissioning Departments during equipment build and installation.
  • Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Test and evaluate theoretical designs
  • Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
  • Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety
  • Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions
  • Prepare product reports and documentation including but not limited to operational manuals, produce specifications, etc.
  • Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Responsible for supporting sales (technical and quotation support)

· On projects that are non-standard responsibility for cost.

Requirements

  • HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Practical electrical engineering skills
  • Problem diagnosis
  • Experience with PLC and computer controlled real-time control systems
  • Analogue and digital circuits
  • Data acquisition
  • Familiarity of electrical CAD packages – Solidworks - Eplan
  • Solid understanding of core electrical/electronic concepts.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Dynamometer engineering experienced preferred
