Warehouse Manager – Glossop

I am currently looking for a Warehouse Manager for my Glossop based client, you will be joining a company who is in a period of growth and as such they have taken on new premises, as such they are looking to appoint a Warehouse Manager.

You will be a Warehouse Manager with considerable experience who will be able to immediately contribute to the organisation and smooth running of their new warehouse, stores, and shipping operation.

The role includes the effective and efficient management of all raw materials, finished goods, and stocked and stored items. The main place of work will be at the Glossop site, but the candidate will be responsible for any off-site locations.

It is essential that the candidate is proactive and self-motivated, managing all aspects of the operation effectively and efficiently. This includes packing, shipping/vehicle hire, loading and off-loading, equipment hire and maintenance, inspection, repair, disposal, and storage of finished goods and client projects. The candidate may be required to attend installation sites to assist with the loading/off-loading of projects.

The role is deadline-driven and can be demanding, requiring the successful candidate to work overtime and weekends during busy periods.

Warehouse Manager essential skills / experience:

• Considerable experience working in a warehouse/store’s environment
• Experience working with stock control systems
• Good knowledge of and the ability to adhere to health and safety guidance and procedures
• Extremely tidy and organised
• Considerable experience in loading/offloading Vans and HGV to optimise space and speed of process
• Forklift truck licence
• Good standard of computer skills
• Punctual, honest and reliable
• The ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
• Team player with the ability to motivate others
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
• Proactive and can take initiative to escalate issues
• Full UK Driving Licence
• The ability to stay calm under pressure
• Good problem-solving skills

Desirable skills / experience

• Experience working within the exhibitions industry
• HGV Licence
• Knowledge of transport regulations and standards
