Support Worker for Maternity Cover and Casual Support Worker needed to support our child client .

Our client is 14 year old child and lives at home with his family in Barham. He loves to be involved in activities, spending time with his family and listening to music. The client has cerebral palsy and epilepsy; he has a PEG in situ and communicates with sounds and facial expression; he attends a specialist school. Our client has complex care and medical needs; is a wheelchair user and he is totally dependent on others to meet all his care needs.

You will have the opportunity to support the client to implement therapies, undertake activities as well as carrying out all personal care duties. The client requires 24-hour support so you will work as part of a home care team, promoting his independence, providing the highest standard of care and support ensuring all his needs are met.
The family have a small dog.

Previous experience working with a young adult with complex care needs is essential.
Applicants must have full driving licence and will be required to drive the clients automatic adapted vehicle.

No smoking or vaping is permitted whilst working with the client.

Hours of work:

• The maternity cover role is likely to last 6-12 months. Working 18 hours per week covering days and night shifts on a rota basis working 9.00am – 9.00pm & 9.00pm – 9.00am and after school during term time 3.00pm – 9.00pm.
• The casual support worker position will be on an as and when needed basis to cover staff sickness and holidays and potential shifts will cover 9.00am – 9.00pm & 9.00pm – 9.00am after school during term time 3.00pm – 9.00pm.

• £13.13 per hour weekends
• £13.13 per hour weekday nights
• £14.14 per hour weekend nights
