We are looking to speak with experienced development professionals as the organisation looks to grow its development portfolio in both newbuild and regeneration. This is an exciting time for our client as they develop and implement their new Growth and Regeneration strategy, providing much needed affordable homes across Greater Manchester for customers now and in the future.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior New Business Manager, this role involves acquiring housing development opportunities to support growth ambitions by utilising various forms of development delivery. The successful candidate will manage planning applications, secure opportunities that align with the development strategy, and implement joint ventures. Additionally, they will work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery.

This position is ideal for a proactive and strategic individual with extensive experience in housing development, particularly within large commercial housebuilding organisations or registered providers. The candidate should be adept at managing projects from inception to completion, possess strong leadership qualities, and be able to foster excellent relationships with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and develop junior team members to deliver high-quality services.

- Identify and secure suitable S106, Package deal and additional development opportunities that align to the Development strategy.

- Identify and implement joint ventures and partnerships with local authorities, housing associations, private developers and investors.

- Collaborate with colleagues to drive construction innovation including MMC, Zero Carbon, Multi tenure product range and sustainability.

- Develop a detailed understanding of identified growth areas and develop good relationships with developers, intermediaries and landowners

- To ensure good relations are established and maintained with local authorities and liaise effectively with Homes England, lead development partners and other key stakeholders.

- To plan and monitor budgets for projects.

- To recommend and ensure that appropriate development proposals, feasibility studies and risk assessments are put together for new sites and opportunities.

- To deliver financial and social economic appraisals of land and property opportunities suitable for the inclusion of the programme.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience with the development department of a national or large regional housebuilder or RP.
  •  Proven experience with the identification and acquisition of sites, assisting in project acquisition from identification, diligence offer contract, purchase, planning to pre start on the sites acquired.
  • Identification of potential development opportunities through a range of methods e.g reviewing statutory development plans, housing land audits, potential change of users, liaising with a broad contact base including agents, developers, contractors and landowners.
  • Knowledge of Proval/ appraisal system is preferable.
  • Degree educated
