Transport Technical Administrator

Overall Purpose:
To provide administrative and technical support to the Health Physics Transport Team and facilitate the transport of dangerous goods and import/export arrangements at UKAEA. This will include supporting facilities implementing the advice provided by the Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) and Export Controller (EC) on the regulatory aspects of the transport of dangerous goods (including radioactive material), import and export compliance and the overseeing of consignments to and from site.

The Transport Technical Administrator is to provide administrative support to the DGSA and EC to facilitate UKAEA remaining compliant with relevant internal procedures, national and international legislation.

Accountabilities:
* General admin duties - maintaining accurate filing both locally and on Share-Point.
* Support the DGSA and EC in providing advice in relation to dangerous goods, radioactive material and the import/ export of goods/ technology particularly those considered dual use.
* Implement the policies and arrangements in place to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and UKAEA requirements.
* Signpost projects and managers regarding transport and import/export to relevant sources of advice and support.
* Support the assurance of the adequacy of transport arrangements through overview of audits, inspections, investigation of events and self-assessment reviews.
* Support the delivery of training (Radioactive Materials Co-Ordinator, export control and the creation of CBT packages) and the maintenance of the transport of dangerous goods, export control and radioactive acquisition sections on Nucleus.
* Maintain and update training matrix for all of UKAEA sites.
* Maintain spreadsheets recording all shipments of dangerous goods and radioactive material.
* Produce a quarterly report on all dangerous goods and radioactive transports to aid in the production of the DGSA annual report.
* Become SQEP for export form/Laptop form sign off
* Maintain the Transport Team's SharePoint pages.
* Maintain and update multiple databases for on and off-site transfers.
* Monitoring and responding to queries on the dangerous goods inbox.

Specific Qualifications/Experience:
Good standard of education
Good written and oral communication skills
IT Skills - High level in Excel and Word mainly and Share-Point desirable.
Awareness of dangerous goods and export control regulations desirable but not essential

Other Duties:
Support UKAEA arrangements for emergency response on-site and where appropriate off-site.
Support in export control procedure implementation
