Progress Teachers are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Isolation Teaching Assistant with expertise in managing challenging behaviours.

As an Isolation Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to students facing behavioural challenges in a temporary isolation setting, helping them to make positive choices and engage well with the work provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students displaying challenging behaviours in an isolated environment.
  • Monitor and address any disruptive or unsafe behaviour promptly and effectively.
  • Implement individualised behaviour management strategies and interventions based on your knowledge of pupils, or as directed by colleagues.
  • Encourage and facilitate student engagement in work, supporting them to make positive academic progress during their time in isolation.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians regarding students' progress and behaviour.
  • maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student behaviour, progress, and interventions.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills related to behaviour management and special education strategies.

Qualifications & requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviours, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of effective behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service OR willingness to obtain.
