Planet Recruitment are proud to be working with our well-established client in the Oxford area who are seeking a Logistics Transport Coordinator.

The successful candidate will support & manage the companies Logistics team on a day-to-day basis. Ensuring that requirements for quality, cost and delivery are achieved. Assist in the effective supply of product and services & ensure that they are delivered correctly to specification and to schedule. Effectively coordinate all Domestic and International shipments and ensure all stake holders are aware of programme requirements.

Main responsibilities;

  • Ensure ADR Legislation is completed and record keeping compliance.
  • Ensuring packaging is sufficient for transportation and is compliant with the goods being carried.
  • An understanding of document requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain concise records by accurately updating systems and where required maintain written records with issue and receipt information.
  • Contribute to site operational efficiency by identifying potential improvements to processes.
  • Always operate in a manner that complies with the Health & Safety policy and report all cases of non-conformance to line manager.
  • Provide daily, weekly & monthly information and reports in line with management and company requirements.
  • The post holder will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve the Company's objectives, commensurate with the grading of the post.
  • A strong sense of self-motivation is required in order to drive the team and business towards agreed contractual KPI's, financial and service goals
  • The ability to prioritise workloads into a methodical & thorough approach to work, ensuring attention to detail is maintained when under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Prioritise tasks according to business objectives and pursue several objectives simultaneously.
  • Be able to work independently with a high degree of self-motivation. Tackle problems with enthusiasm and curiosity. Ability to manage and analyse a situation and develop a professional solution to the organisation is required.
  • Be organised, structured and always have an overview of all the deliverables.
  • Be accurate and make punctual use of company software and systems to ensure efficient operations.
  • Be able to ensure all health and safety obligations are met providing a legal and safe working environment that consistently exceeds standards. Be responsible for the applicable Health and Safety processes and observe best practice and compliance with legislation in the protection of the environment and conservation of energy
  • Provide a culture of improvement and team effectiveness to ensure a strong team and good team morale
  • Promote effective, positive communication with internal and external customers to ensure agreed service level achieved.
  • Acceptance that this role will require a flexible approach to working hours and weekend cover.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with all sites to ensure all collections and deliveries can be accommodated and all legislation is compiled to.
  • Ensure all relevant documents are in place prior to collection or deliveries - DGN's MSDS's, VCA / CAA approvals.
  • Be able to build and maintain relationships with approval agencies to ensure full compliance on projects within a timely fashion to not delay a shipment

Required / Qualifications;

  • Experience in a high-pressure Supply Chain role is essential but full company specific training will be given
  • ADR/ Class 9 and regulatory compliance within Transport / Warehousing, although training will be given.
  • An understanding of Customs process and Carnet use is essential.
