Role – Mechanical Design Engineer
Location – Fakenham, Norfolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday – Full time hours
Salary – Up to £42,000 per annum
Capacity of role – Permanent based
Our well respected client is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join them within their drawing office. Candidates will need to be proficient with 3D Solidworks and will have the drive to succeed within a reputable organisation.
Main duties will include -
 Creation of overall design and assembly drawings to define customer requirements,
 Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings for internal or external production,
 Creation of BOM for special products and procurement as required
 Customer liaison for projects
 Liaison with Workshop Supervisor to ensure projects are fulfilled on time
 Continuous improvement of existing products
 Reporting any problems or defects to senior management within the team

Key Skills
 A sound background in mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of mechanisms, fabricated assemblies and sheet metalwork
 The ability to quickly and effectively design customised variants from a standard product range,
 The ability to prioritise workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects.
 Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar,
 Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time
 Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation
 Able to work as part of a small team
 Excellent communication skills
