Operative with LGV

We are working with a market leader in the highways term maintenance industry and are looking to recruit an Operative with LGV.

Join our team as an Operative, where you'll collaborate closely with the Supervisor to deliver exceptional service to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the highest standards of maintenance across the highway network, aligning closely with the strategies and policies of the County Council and Essex Highways.

We're seeking individuals with strong customer skills to maintain excellence within our team. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities are vital to ensure that all interactions are conducted with courtesy and helpfulness, keeping customers fully informed about the services and standards we deliver.

The Role

• Pothole repair and carriageway defect reinstatements.
• Carriageway and footway patching and construction.
• Drainage works, including laying pipes, resetting ironwork and gully / access chamber construction.
• Kerbing works.
• Installation of road signs and other small civil works.

About You

• A current, valid driving licence is essential, with LGV Class 2 entitlement highly desirable.
• New Roads and Streetworks or NHSS 12 training and qualifications would be highly beneficial.
• Experience in the use of handheld technology (PDAs, Smartphones, etc) would be advantageous but not essential. Local knowledge of the county would be beneficial.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers both internally and externally. Experience of working in the public eye or other customer-facing roles would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of highways maintenance.
