ATA are supporting a global construction group who are looking for an experienced quality manager to join their production facility in Nottingham. The group who turnover north of £1billion, employ over 4500 people across 10 divisions globally and provide a turn-key solution to their customers within the residential and commercial sector. Projects our clients are involved in range from £50-500m.

The site in Nottingham is undergoing serious investment, with over 30m pledged to the business over the next couple of years, the group is on a mission to completely reinvent the place. This will include investment in new machinery (£3.5 million already in this year), investment in people and the building.

As part of this investment, they now need an experienced quality manager who is driven by making cultural changes on site. This role would suit somebody who wants to make the department their own.

About the role

As a quality manager at this site, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing quality standards in line with the company objectives
  • Design, implement and monitor quality control processes.
  • Quality audits
  • Non-conformance detection, reporting and corrective measures (CAPA).
  • Defect analysis and resolution
  • Training and development of quality assurance team members.
  • Working in line with quality accreditation
  • Working in close partnership with the production manager

About you

Due to the nature of the role and mission the company is on, our client is keen to ensure that the correct quality manager will be the right cultural fit for the business. This means that everything they do should have the customer in mind ensuring that the final product exceeds expectations.

  • The ability to gain consensus within an established team.
  • Effective communication skills with an ability to convey quality standards.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to pinpoint reasons behind quality defects.
  • The ability to train and develop other quality team members.
  • Recognised engineering qualification.
  • Passion for quality engineering.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001.
