Contract Type: Temporary -Term Time Only (Temporary to permanent roles are available)

Hours: Monday-Friday (Full-Time - 8:30am-3:00pm)

Daily Rate: £85-£95 a day

Are you passionate about education and looking to make a real impact in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Veritas Education are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Education Support Workers to work in our special schools in Bradford. We have both full-time and part-time positions available to suit your schedule.

Role Overview:

In this role as an Educational Support Worker, you will be working in special schools supporting students with Special Educational Needs, complex needs, medical needs, Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours. You will play a pivotal role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs to reach their full potential. Working closely with the teaching staff, you will contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in developing and implementing individualised learning activities for students with SEN.
  • Provide direct support to students through one-on-one and small group interactions, addressing their specific learning needs.
  • Help in the creation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student's progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere.
  • Aid in classroom management and perform routine administrative tasks.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and engage in professional development.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people and/or adults with SEN/complex needs is essential.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management principles and positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Be Level 2 Team Teach trained or be willing to attend the training course offered by Veritas.
  • Safeguarding training is essential, this can be offered by Veritas.
  • Level 2 safeguarding training is essential, this can be offered by Veritas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the dynamic nature of the role.
  • Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration.
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
