Gap Personnel is acting as an employment business and are recruiting for Production Supervisor for our Client based in Rochdale, OL16.

Client is a food manufacturer specialising in baked protein products.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting into the Production Manager
  • Taking full ownership of your team, with a proactive mindset to enable you achieve the production plan every shift. Keeping your team motivated and focused on sites vision and goals
  • Ensuring targets are met on through puts and costs. Ensuring the shift is running efficiently and effectively.
  •  Ensuring adherence to production plans- taking into consideration of completion of customers’ orders in full and on time. 
  • Working with your team to ensure all equipment / plant are running safely and effectively.
  • Optimise resources, control staffing level to agreed levels with your Production Manger, to ensure all production is completed on daily basis and the allocation of staff to appropriate duties.
  • Proactively manage your staff ensuring you have the trained operatives to perform all relevant tasks. Ensure you have a plan in place to ensure you have the correct levels of skills to run all lines safely to meet the businesses needs.
  •  KPI- Ensuring performances are met and exceeded. Monitoring waste levels, yield, staffing level v costs on all product and driving and implement improvements where necessary. Performance will be reviewed with the Production Manager and Site General Manager.
  • Generate the daily paperwork that is required for the effective running of shift inline with all site accreditation.
  • Ensure accurate completion of paperwork from your team to give correct figures, full traceability and ensuring the all relevant information is recorded and adherence to procedures
  • Product quality and all products are produced in line with agreed customer specifications.
  • Ensure Health & Safety guidelines are followed - work with your team to ensure H&S audits are being done on regular basis, risk assessments for all jobs and equipment are in place, reviewed annually. Ensure that all staff are working safely and we provided a safe environment for them to work in. Ensure all machines have the relevant safety guards on and aren’t used if faulty. Drive and implement changes to improve site practises to reduce any H&S risk to any personnel at Mother Rileys Bakery.
  •  Continuous improvement for plant, staff and production processes required to improve efficiencies within our process. Identify bottlenecks or weak areas within our process, drive and implement improvement plan to address these issues with costs and benefit incorporated in the plan
  •  Staff training for all bakery staff- Plan required training where appropriate. Identify weak areas of skills, implement training programme to ensure enough staff have the right skill set for the effective and efficient running of production.
  •  Communication to your team staff daily on production plan, prioritises of work schedules, improvement on through puts and any problems that may or have occurred also ensuring that the company smart targets are communicated, and we strive to achieve them on the required basis.
  • Daily meetings with mangers to discuss key areas of business and day to day running of the business
  • Work with managers to implement changes, company procedures and policies. Liaise with all departments on best practise, ideas, issues and suggestions.
  • Staff issues and Disciplines where necessary. RTW interviews
  • HACCP – Critical Control Points are adhered too, any failures are action correctly and all HACCP and food safety procedures followed and adhered too.
  • Ensure agencies are carrying out appropriate Inductions and to induct any new staff when required

Requirements:

Minimum one year of experience working as a Supervisor 

Proven people management skills

Preferably someone experienced working in Food Production environment

Good IT and numeracy skills

Accountable for work performed and sets a positive example to other members of the team

Ability to make quick decisions

About the role:

Monday to Friday

7am-4pm

Salary between 27k-29k/annum

Permanent contract for the right candidate.
