Position Overview

Design Engineer & Estimator required for a Sheet Metal Fabrication company based in Malmesbury.

Responsible for using customer drawings/samples/ideas and converting/creating manufacturable file formats using Solid Edge and RADAN Software.

Responsible for executing high-quality and accurate fabrication quotations.

Understanding the clients' needs and providing a comprehensive quotation based upon agreed specifications.

You will report to the Factory Manager and Commercial Manager.

Core Responsibilities

• Creating 2D and 3D file formats from customer supplied drawings/samples/ideas.
• Conversion of customer drawings/samples/ideas to usable bending aid drawings.
• Checking and authorising colleagues 2D & 3D Radan created drawings.
• Costing and preparation of bespoke fabrication quotations.
• The development of positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Accurately and efficiently compile customer quotes, in an effective and timely manner.
• Effectively communicate with customers regarding their specific requirements and ensuring that relevant communication with the customer is documented.
• Source external prices from suppliers where necessary.
• Be the point of contact with customers including the raising & answering of queries etc.
• Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner.
• Respond to questions and queries both internally and externally.
• You are responsible for entering accurate customer information into 'Workplan' (Quotation, CRM & ERP software).

Core requirements

• Excellent CAD skills
• Ideally experience with quotations, etc
• Engineering / manufacturing background

Remuneration

• Salary likely anywhere from £25k-£40k dependent on experience (Different levels considered)
• Office based
• 40 hours a week (Flexible start time)
