Job Description: Vehicle Technician

Total Staff Services is seeking a motivated and skilled Vehicle Technician on behalf of one of our esteemed clients in Gillingham. This is a prime opportunity to join a reputable family business that values its employees and offers substantial career growth and development opportunities.

Salary: OTE circa £33k (uncapped)

Working Pattern:

  • Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 5:30pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)
  • Alternate Saturday mornings: 8:30am - 12:30pm

Key Requirements:

  • Previous parts-related experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective management skills
  • Ability to learn and use specialist computer-based systems
  • A desire to provide exceptional customer experiences

Duties Include:

  • Team management and performance management
  • Team training (manufacturer and in-house)
  • Taking sales orders from customers both face-to-face and over the phone
  • Stock control for vehicle parts and accessories
  • Maintaining an ordered stock room
  • Raising invoices for parts sold
  • Liaison with internal teams to ensure the correct stock is in place at the right time
  • Liaising with brand partners and ensuring all standards are met, including accessory standards
  • Monitoring stock levels and managing the re-order process for essential stock items
  • Tracking and reporting department KPIs and striving to exceed targets
  • Sales forecasting and budgeting
  • Identifying and maximizing additional sales opportunities

  • Experience in the motor trade is advantageous
  • Good technical awareness or understanding of cars and parts
