are looking to recruit an experienced P6 Planner to join our team at Hinkley Point C, through until 2026. 

The Role

The primary responsibility is to produce, update and maintain the Project Schedule in conjunction with the respective accountable discipline leads and in line with the project controls strategy and schedule management plan.

Requirements

Your new position will be:

Responsible for ensuring on time reporting to the project and management team to display control, progress and understanding in the design, procurement, and execution phases.

Develop and deliver project plans in P6

Develops a project schedule in Primavera P6, with a robust logic and Work Breakdown Structure to at least a level 3 detail and update summary level as well as detailed fabrication and construction activities

Develop Work Breakdown Structures, produce manhour take-offs, establish durations and ensure series and parallel working have been considered.

Include key project milestones for Client Deliverables, design materials, sub-contracts etc.

Ensure relevant quality procedures and methodologies are applied, including use of change control processes.

Monitor and identify programme specific risks

Evaluate & record project progress against plan

Assesses actual progress based on site inspections

Ensure plan is kept up to date with any agreed changes to scope, as directed by the Project Management team.

Re-baseline project progress as required

Develops earned value reports and detailed client progress reports.

Ensure compliance with relevant standards

Produce Milestone schedules and analysis, including CPA

Ensuring Schedules are smoothly interfaced with the client and/or subcontract partners to meet or exceed their expectations.

Production of risk analysis data if required by the project.

Labour Resource management and forecasting and develops resource histograms and s-curves

Monitor progress (including sub-contractors) against plans and schedules and report on status.

Identify and presents schedule updates to Project Managers and Planning Team, communicating progress, changes to critical path/key milestones and highlighting any potential issues.

Attend project meetings and present progress reports to the client.

Liaise and interface with team members, clients, suppliers and sub-contractors.

Support Quality and Health and Safety objectives

Work safely and adhere to the clients company policies and procedures and those of our client

Work as part of a team to successfully achieve the aims and objectives of the Project and the company.

Demonstrate flexibility and approachability.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements 

Minimum of Five years’ experience as a Planner within the Oil, Gas, Nuclear Industry with Project or Turnaround experience.

Proficiency in Primavera scheduling products (P6) and report preparation skills

Must have strong understanding of CPM (Critical Path Method) concepts and calculations

Strong understanding of earned value concepts, calculations, and rules of credit

Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including MS 365

Project Specifics

The position will be based onsite, starting ASAP through until 2026 

This role will report into the Project Director and sits within the Project Controls function overseen by the Commercial Director.

Working Hours: Initially working 11 days on 3 days off 9.5 hours (Working hours may change to suit the needs of the project).

Duration: ASAP for through until 2026 

Rate of Pay: Depending on experience, this will be discussed with each applicant - Based on a Monthly Paid Staff full time permanent contract.
