We're currently recruiting for a Factory Manager (Site Lead) at our Manchester Dairy, your purpose will be to provide effective Leadership and Management of the Site team and operational activities and develop the site teams to achieve World Class Manufacturing and a High Performing Team Culture. Whilst being responsible for the achievement of the Site strategy and business critical KPI targets and develop and execute the site longer term improvement.

Key role responsibilities
  • Create a site vision, and values based principles to inspire and motivate at all levels, provide guidance, coaching and support to deliver all site operational and people targets
  • Influence the creation of a site business plan over a 3 year time horizon that includes creating a strategy to deliver World Class Manufacturing and a High Performing Team Culture
  • Set the highest standard and expectations for safety performance to deliver a safe, cared for working environment
  • Champion the company values and apply Leadership behaviours that exemplify excellence and utilise a style of leadership that ensures our people understand, "How" they need behave to deliver key objectives, "What" they need to do and "Why" key objectives are important for the success of the business
  • Influence the creation of a site annual training plan that includes the development of the Site Leadership team to improve their capabilities to develop a high performing team culture
  • Influence the Site Leadership team to encourage and engage employee participation in all CI activities aligned with delivering our OGSM targets. Manage the progress of improvement activities via a regular tracking forum
  • Deliver sustained improvements on Key performance indicators by engaging all employees in activities that deliver WCM standards
  • Improve site compliance to BRC, aspire to ISO 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 55001 utilising, structured, resourced and visual plans to improve Safety and Quality, reduce energy consumption and improve OEE
  • Develop the site leadership team to create expert knowledge of Safety, Quality, Environmental and Engineering Management to achieve autonomy through cost effective resourcing and remove the necessity for constant central support
  • Collaborate with central functions to review and develop our functional roadmaps
  • Support the RGM to develop and embed a HPTC within the CoE's that support your site
What are we looking for?
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in a similar FMCG role is desirable
  • Demonstrable knowledge of complex fast moving clean environments (24/7- short life products)
  • Experience of Lean/TPM/World Class Manufacturing
  • Proven skills in managing and developing a team
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • A good technical knowledge of supermarkets food safety requirements
  • Experience in Project management and managing budgets
  • Good knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques
  • Good communication skills
  • Team building skills and strong ability to work cross functionally
  • Leadership experience + 4 years
  • Experience of private label manufacturing within and FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of BRC & Tesco PIU standard is desired
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, 18001 & 55001 is desired
