Purpose of Job:
- To teach Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- To contribute to the Geography department and the overall academic success of the students.
- Teaching:
- Deliver high-quality Geography lessons to students at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Prepare engaging lesson plans and materials that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning needs.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support their development.
- Curriculum Development:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Geography curriculum.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods and resources to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with colleagues in the Geography department to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning.
- Participate in departmental meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities.
- Student Support:
- Provide academic support and guidance to students, helping them achieve their full potential.
- Address any issues or concerns related to student performance and well-being.
- Extracurricular Activities:
- Participate in or lead extracurricular activities related to Geography, such as field trips or geography clubs.
- Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Candidates without QTS will not be considered.
- Experience:
- Experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4 is preferred.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong subject knowledge in Geography and familiarity with the Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Personal Attributes:
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
- Collaborative and proactive approach to working with colleagues and students.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
