Job Description:

Every day is different. You may be supporting someone to plan their weekly shop, to going on an outdoor adventure. Providing everyday personal care to supporting someone to go to their favourite gig. You could be building someone’s confidence in using public transport to teaching money management skills. What’s important is supporting people to discover new interests, achieve new goals and maintain important relationships with their family and friends. You’ll provide the highest possible standard of care and support for learning disabled adults. Listening to their wants and needs, enabling people to do daily tasks such as taking medication, cooking a meal or working with them to build their confidence and take on new adventures they are longing for. All this while working a variety of shifts to support your work and home life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To help with individual needs to improve their quality of life and be part of their communities.
  • To promote independence, wellbeing, rights, responsibilities and choice among service users. 
  • To provide day to day care and support to enable the individuals to live as independently as they wish.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Display a flexible attitude towards providing a service
  • Comfortable with providing personal and intimate care to our service users.
  • Adaptable and able to work in a challenging and changeable environment
  • Display a caring and empathetic approach to people with Learning Disabilities
  • Able to undertake the moving and handling of service users following training
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
  • Adhering to best practices and clinical guidelines

Requirements:

  • Support Work Experience (Ideally with Learning Disabilities)
  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care
