We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join Z-Tech. We're a growing company, so this will be a varied role, but will be primarily within our Water Business Unit where knowledge of the Water Industry is key, but not essential as this role can span both our customers in the Energy and Rail & adjacent market sectors.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Systems Engineer with industrial experience, you'll be working within the Water, Energy and Rail industries, providing industrial control systems design, development, and deployment, along with supporting your electrical, control & instrumentation colleagues and our customers.
The types of work include:
Software design and implementation, i.e. PLC program design, HMI and SCADA applications, DCS. Exposure to other programming languages such as VBA, SQL, C++.
Design and integration of industrial fieldbus networks and industrial communications infrastructure considering cyber security and the National Infrastructure Security (NIS) requirements for the sectors Z-Tech work across.
Functional Design Specification and Control philosophy development to conform to client requirements.
Creation of technical document templates and production of such documents including Technical Folders, O&M and other handover documentation when required
Working hours are Monday to Friday 40 hours per week. You're the kind of person that doesn't mind a bit of travel between sites across England. You'll be provided with company van and fuel card.
What we need from you?
As a minimum a First Class Honours Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, or relevant engineering qualifications with the relevant experience within the systems engineering discipline.
Working knowledge of the deployment and maintenance of SCADA, DCS & BMS platforms, PLCs, HMIs, Industrial communications architectures and virtual networks.
Industrial sector experience.
