Position Summary

The Head of Quality position will lead the Quality manufacturing organisation within Ansty Park, being responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining Meggitt's Quality system and function compliant with design, manufacturing, aftermarket activities including supply chain and compliance to customer requirement. The role will provide clear leadership and coaching abilities collaborating with the site Leadership Council (SLC) and business stakeholders to create, develop and deploy the business Quality strategy for the site.
With the site operational from Q4 2019, they will also lead the transition of the Quality organisation to the new site.

The Head of Quality provides direction for all quality strategy for the site, sits as a member of the site leadership council; Provides leadership for the quality function; Demonstrates accountability for functional, business and broad company objectives; Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization. Establish short to long-term strategies for internal & external quality performance.

The position holds independent responsibility for ensuring that the company maintains continued compliance to the appropriate regulatory (EASA Pt 21 & 145 etc), business standards (AS9100 / AS 9110, etc), all customer and internal Meggitt PLC requirements by leading the business in maintaining and improving the quality systems adopted by the site.

The position has full authority over all product quality from the supply chain through to the delivered parts at the customer base. The role will ensure that a programme of product conformance is implemented, executed and improvements reported and realized.

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

  • Clear and demonstrated Leadership abilities including coaching and people development.
  • Significant management experience of multi-discipline teams, with the ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in multi-functional teams including suppliers, to tight deadlines often under pressure.
  • Good understanding of Manufacturing / Engineering Processes.
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of Airworthiness and Regulatory approvals and processes.
  • Preferred formal continuous improvement qualification (green or black belt) with demonstrated knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, APQP, and 8D
  • Able to apply regulatory and compliance requirements pragmatically into the site
    Positive collaboration with and support for other functions including Group.
    Self-motivation is essential as is the ability to plan and prioritise.
