Principal Accountant
Location: Godmanchester (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Starting Salary: £51,231 rising to £55,599 scale MB2
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Accountant to join Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
What will you be doing?
Under the management of the Head of Finance you will have responsibility for planning, leading, managing and developing the provision of the corporate management accounting service for collaborated units with other Police Forces under Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s Lead (including HR, L&D, PSD, Information Management and Payroll) providing the senior business partner finance lead for related projects across the portfolio as well as leading on local corporate procurement and other reporting projects.
What do you need?
· You must be a qualified CCAB Accountant with significant post qualified experience
· Demonstrable experience of financial strategy, planning, monitoring and reporting in large, complex organisations with significant budgets
· The ability to initiate change and implement new policies including vat compliance, practices, procedures and systems. Ability to solve problems, manage change, influence and motivate
· Experience of line management and the ability to foster effective team working.
· Strong people skills to connect to a wide range of individuals
The successful candidate for this role will require vetting to be carried out, the vetting will be similar to that required for Police Officers.
