Document Controller - New Build Housing                                                            

Location: Warwickshire

Salary: Up to £40,000 (Depending on experience)

Overview: We are seeking an organized Document Controller to join our team for a small new build housing client going though substantial growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining all project-related documents, ensuring they are properly stored, accessible, and up-to-date. Reports into the Technical Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Document Management:
    • Establish and maintain an efficient document control system for the project.
    • Ensure all project documents, including drawings, specifications, contracts, and reports, are properly filed and archived.
    • Control the distribution of documents, ensuring that only the most current versions are in use.
  2. Coordination and Communication:
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to collect and distribute necessary documentation.
    • Facilitate effective communication between the project team and external parties regarding document requirements.
  3. Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure that all documents comply with company standards and project requirements.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure document control processes are being followed.
  4. Document Tracking and Reporting:
    • Maintain a register of incoming and outgoing documents.
    • Track the status of all documents through regular updates and reporting.
    • Prepare reports and summaries on document control activities for the project team and management.
  5. Technical Support:
    • Assist in the preparation and formatting of project documentation.
    • Provide technical support for document control systems and software.
    • Train new staff and team members on document control procedures and systems.
Qualifications/Experience

  • Education: A degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a document control role within the construction industry, preferably in residential or new build housing projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in document management software (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Certifications: Document control certification (e.g., CDOC) is a plus but not mandatory.
  • The position may require occasional site visits.
  • Office hours (8.30-5pm) with potential for extended hours during project peak times.
  • Collaborative and fast-paced work environment.
